We have received verbal reports that two junior high school students have been diagnosed with the H1N1 virus. We cannot confirm that this is fact, however, we have enough evidence to feel the need to notify parents of the situation. Absences at the jr/sr high school have more than doubled in the last two days (Friday, Nov. 13 to Monday, Nov. 16). Absences at the elementary school have remained fairly constant. We are taking extra steps at school to clean and sanitize classrooms, computer keyboards and mice, bathrooms, door handles, and the like. Teachers have been asked to have K-12 students wipe off their desks at the end of each day and to redouble efforts to make sure we all wash our hands and keep our hands away from eyes, nose, and mouth. At home please urge your children not to share water bottles or other drinks or food at school and to report any signs of the flu to you at once. If students become ill at school, we will notify you right away.
