ARRIVAL AT SCHOOL
Parents, please see that your children who walk to school arrive no earlier than 8:00 a.m. Students who walk to school seem to be arriving earlier and earlier. This seems to be particularly the case at the west gym doors where the students in grades 3, 4, and 5 assemble. Some of these students are creating problems for other students with inappropriate and/or unkind words, gestures, and the like. As you may remember, we begin supervision outside at 7:50 a.m.
Please help us reduce the potential for problems by timing your children's arrival at school for between 8 - 8:05 a.m. And thank you for your understanding.
CONTACTING TEACHERS
Just as a reminder, if you would like to visit with a teacher about your child, please make an appointment with Mrs. Barrows in the office at least 24 hours in advance. The teacher may wish to call you to get an idea of the topic so he or she can find data to assist with the meeting. There are to be no personal visits before school - teachers need this time to prepare for the day.
Also, please DO NOT contact teachers on their personal cell phones or on their personal email accounts. If you need to speak with a teacher, call the school or email the teacher using the teacher's school email instead. If you call, you can leave a message 24/7 at 815-246-8361 x10 and the teacher will get back to you as soon as possible.

MARKET DAY
Market Day pick up is November 25, 2009 from 3:15. You may pay by cash, credit card, check or Link card.
PTA SANTA'S SECRET SHOP
This year the Santa Shop will be held on Dec. 10th and 11th. We need gift bags, wrapping paper, tissue paper, bows, tags, and items the children can buy. If you would like to donate any of these, please bring them to the school and put them in the box by the office. Thanks!
PTA YOGA CLASSSES
Yoga classes began Wednesday Oct. 28th at 6:30 pm in the west (new) gym. It is a 7-week class and the cost for the class is $50.00. You may contact Sara Benson at 246-5109 or Tonya Bretsch at 246-4708 with questions.
DRESS FOR THE WEATHER
Winter is on the way! Please be sure your children have warm clothing with them at school. Students will be going out for recess even when snow is on the ground, so please plan ahead as the children will need snow pants, snow boots and scarves on those days.
ELEMENTARY WINTER PROGRAM - TUESDAY, DECEMBER 16
There will be an elementary winter program from grades K-5 at 12:45 in the East gym. Please look for more information to follow. Mark your calendars.
