Earlville CUSD 9's homepage is the best place to find out if the school has been closed due to snow, ice, or other weather emergencies. Look for the snowman with a special message.
There are two kinds of closing: closing for the entire day and closing during the day.
If Earlville closes for the entire day, that decision is made before 6 a.m. The webpage is updated immediately followed by notification to the Emergency Call Center which then alerts the radio and television stations.
If we must close during the day while school is in session, a parent phone tree is used to make contact with each student's parents/guardians/emergency contacts.
Emergency closing information is also reported to a central call-in number and reported to the following radio stations:
480 AM 107.1 FM
And the following television stations:
- CBS 2, NBC 5, ABC 7, and WGN 9. Look for Earlville's name in the ticker that runs at the bottom of the screen.
